Yunus Gorur

As an international student from Turkey, Yunus came to Drexel University for the first time to participate in the summer mentorship program for high school students in 2007. During that summer, he worked on the catalysis of nanocombustion process for aerospace applications. In 2009, he started attending Drexel University with the President’s Scholarship and in the end of that same year he participated in the STAR program, in which he conducted studies about plasma pharmacology at the A.J Drexel Plasma Institute. He is currently a senior majoring in Materials Science Engineering and has been working on biodegradable polymer nanocomposites in the soft materials group under Dr. Christopher Li’s supervision. He will be continuing his education as a master’s student at EUSMAT (European School of Materials) in Sweden and in France with the Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the next two years. He is an avid sports fan and a proud brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
